Unless you’ve been living under a non-political rock, you’ve probably heard that One Nation is polling quite well at the moment. I’m not going to offer any political analysis here beyond my suspicion that how people feel about One Nation two years out from an election vs when it’s time to vote may not entirely line up.

Instead, I want to use a marketing lens to unpack what’s behind their current success* and what we can potentially learn from it.

Before I get into it: I suspect a lot of what’s driving their recent polling gains has nothing to do with One Nation specifically. It has to do with the way our information ecosystems push us into rabbit holes, reward outrage and prioritise right wing views. That said, I think there’s still some important things we can learn.
